Reputations Well Earned
The story has been well told all across the wild coast, but I do dare to say it again, Akbar and Salvore are two of the mightiest warriors to walk the earth. Doubt me if you will, but I heard the truth from their comrade himself. A halfling of moderate size, name was Shane I think, set me straight. It all started in the liche's lair. A master beast with a score of weaker liches in his service. There was a horde of vampires to boot. The big westerner, the one called Akbar, lost an arm and he still kept fighting. All alone he beheaded the master liche.
But that was only because Master Salvore waded through the many minions blocking the way. The pelts of werewolves and lesser drakes flew everywhere that day.
Then, when the great undead that kept the divine power of the cleric and druid at bay was vanquished, they let loose all the holy power in their arsenal. So much energy was released by them that the undead literally exploded from the righteousness.
I know what your thinking, druids can't turn undead, but the little lady had a staff that gave her the power to turn it. No that part was true I say, a huge cowled druid explained how it worked. I'd tell ya but my head hurts if I think about it too much.
There were others too. A little fellow who was the friend of Shane, he was so determined to stop the undead power that he shuffled off to the outer planes just to keep 'em from coming back. A monk was there too, but the little guy only said that the monk was the master of distraction. He never went into what all that robed guy did.
What? Yeah they had a wizard, powerful fella. He was a master of defense magicks and wards. But get this, he wasn't even human, he was a giant badger in disguise. No foolin'.
But I tell ya, it was the fighters that were the most amazing. Nothing could stand in their way. Side by side they waded through an army of goblins and trolls. We could all do far worse than to end up with men like this leading us.
