Armor and Shields

Greened Leathers of Gamboge

These rare suits of armor were made for the scouts and woodsmen of the Gamboge Forest. It is believed that only a score of these suits were made, all of them crafted by a reclusive elven sorcerer. He sought to create armor that would offer protection and advantage when scouring the forest for intruders. He succeeded beyond his wildest dreams.

This armor is crafted in a similar manor to hide by connecting two suits of leather armor together to afford better protection. Both suits are first treated with a series of stains and oils so that their color turns deep green and the leather itself gains greater flexibility when bent in certain directions. Because of this unusual quality the base bonus the armor grants is +3, like Hide armor, but it allows a maximum dex bonus of +8 and no skill check penalties. In addition arcane spell failure is only at 10%. The armor's weight is its biggest downside, coming in at 30 lb. But the abilities and bonuses here are for before any magic is taken into account. When magic is figured in the armor becomes a truly impressive work of art.

The total bonus granted to armor class is +5 (+2 to magic and the +3 natural bonus). The suit also helps in reconosance by give the wearer a +2 bonus to Hide and Move Silently. This armor is valuable and so far no other has been able to figure out what strange alchemical mixtures grant the armor its strange combination of flexibility and resistance.
